Bob:

This is Bob and Ryan with surface renew. And today we wanted to go over a granite countertop cleaning Little Rock and answer a few questions we got from one of our customers who had some really great questions to ask us about how it works and just kind of the ins and outs of what a granite countertop cleaning does. One of the first questions we got is a granite countertop cleaning. Is it really necessary?

Ryan:

Yeah, it’s very necessary to get your granite countertop cleaning Little Rock. It’s one of the most poorest stones that you can have in your kitchen. It traps a lot of bacteria and other unsightly things in its pores and just regular household cleaners. Won’t get it out. You really need a professional to come in and deep clean it with the chemicals we use that are safe and they don’t last on your countertop. And then we put on a penetrating sealer to help seal in or seal out any future potential risks like salmonella other stuff that’s this discontent that can contaminate food surfaces.

Bob:

Yeah, because really the, the biggest concern there is like your meats when you use it as a prep service, all the, the basically juices, if you want to call that off of your meat are seeping down into all those little pores and they’re just allowed to just grow down there and, you know, kind of germinate and the germs just don’t go away. So then when you go put your loaf of bread on there and you slice your loaf of bread, where you just, you know, cut up your chicken, you run a real risk of getting those raw meat juices into your bread or any other foods that you’re eating. And like Ryan said, that can be a real risk for things like salmonella. So granite countertops, very durable, very hard but from a sanitation standpoint, really need to be your granite countertops cleaning service along with sealing every year to make sure that you’re not running into that problem of potential a contaminant cross-content cross-contamination in your kitchen. Yep.

Ryan:

And just a really good granite countertop cleaning Little Rock before it is you, unfortunately, you just can’t clean it yourself. The way we can clean it professionally and get down into the stone, literally into the stone and get the pores empty of all micro bacteria and stuff.

Bob:

And then just as importantly, get the sealer down into the stone, cause this is not a topical sealer because you’ve paid all that money for these great looking kitchen countertops. So you want them to look good, which kind of leads us to our next question. Does it make it look any differently after they’re been cleaned and sealed?

Ryan:

You actually have a couple of choices on that. When it comes to cleaning that we can use an enhancing seal, a penetrating sealer, or just a straight penetrating sealer, the enhancing seal will make your colors pop and make your countertops more vivid or more vibrant, you know, make your colors more Trent, more translucent and more just make your countertops stand out and for lack of a better word pop when, if you don’t want that, we can just put on a regular penetrating sealer that just keeps your stone just a natural flat surface like you, if you know, however you want to do it.

Bob:

So really it’s not going to change the look of your countertop either. You know, it’s not like something that’s going over the top of it, and now it’s going to look maybe cleaner and brighter, but all of your colors will still be there. Everything we use is safe for your stone countertops and will not really change the look. We’ll just adjust kind of the sheen to what your desire for your kitchen. And the next question we had was for a kitchen that gets used every day, which most kitchens are how often should you consider getting this cleaned and sealed to prevent cross-contamination or your food

Ryan:

On a high traffic kitchen? That’s if you entertain a lot, I would suggest twice a year, but most homes we suggest once a year and it’s super, super important because if you skip it, you’re just in your danger and your children, yourself, and everyone else from harmful bacteria, as they get into your granite. Plus you’re also causing damage to your granite to sometimes can’t be restored if you go too long without having it serviced.

Bob:

Yeah. Granite countertop cleaning Little Rock is probably one of the most overlooked services that we offer. In fact, before Ryan and I got into this, we didn’t even know that you had to do that as well. I mean, finger granite, countertop, rock hard, real stone. You put it in and just, you know, leave it go. But that is not the case. Granite countertop cleaning is one of the most critical things you can do for safe food preparation. In fact, in restaurants, you can’t even have a prep surface that is made out of real stone. You have to have it if you have it, it has to be sealed with, with a USDA approved sealer.

Ryan:

And when we’re doing the granite countertop cleaning Little Rock, we we also offer touch ups where we can fix chips, deans some minor scratches if they’re not too deep. And the, the biggest issue we see is around the sink. When we’re doing granite countertops cleaning little rock, we see a lot of damage around the sink where watches and jewelry and pots and pans have banged against it. We can grind that out, smooth it and fill it. And then we also offer a to regrout where the countertop meets the, the backsplash. And then we also, reapproximate the joints between the, where your countertop is put together in the seams.

Bob:

One of the other questions we get asked a few times actually is a question about our different types of granite countertop cleaning. Do they need more or less maintenance and kind of the short answer there is, you know, granite is one of the hardest stones that there is we’ve seen some marble countertops as well, but if we’re just about kind of granite, I mean, I know it’s got different looks, different colors but the way it’s made is essentially the same, you know, compressed underground. We had that great term a few weeks ago that I don’t remember anymore, sadly something yeah. How it forms and so all granites and all it really all your natural stone period need regular maintenance to seal the pores and prevent contaminants and potential harmful things from getting down into your stone.

Ryan:

Granite countertop cleaning Little Rock is critical, marble countertops need cleaning, quartz, countertops need cleaning, travertine countertops need cleaning, and limestone countertops need cleaning. All natural stone countertops. Even if you have tile countertops that need to be cleaned, granite tile countertops need to be cleaned. One of the things that we really suggest, the only thing we do not need to seal is quartz. Most quartz does not take a sealer. It just sits on top and doesn’t do any good.

Bob:

One of the questions that we love to answer for our customers and love to tell you is: how do you know that surface renew is the right choice for this job?

Ryan:

We’ve been in business for 17 years now, we’ve polished and cleaned. We did a lot of granite countertop cleaning Little Rock all over the state of Arkansas. The main thing is all of our guys have 15 years or more of experience, whether it’s cleaning, polishing, refinishing, all the different things that we offer. Our guys, they get, we go through all the newer systems and we check out all the new things around. We try new things. If they don’t, we try them in house, they don’t work, we don’t use them. We experiment in our own homes before we give it to the public, but we do have the best top-notch sealers and cleaning for granite countertop, cleaning,

Bob:

You know, and another thing that we talked a little bit earlier about how marble and granite, you know, are both stones and need to be sealed and cleaned annually, a deep cleaning annually. One thing we get that’s a little tougher question to answer is what’s the difference between marble and granite and how can you tell the difference? Are there any like keys that people can look at?

Ryan:

It’s, it’s, it’s kind of a trained eye for your granite countertop cleaning Little Rock. I’ve even been fooled a few times between granite marble and courts. One of the main things is the reflectivity of it. A lot of marbles don’t have the little chumps of courts and other fine stones in it that have like a glitter effect. It’s almost guaranteed to be a granite or a really, really hard marble, like fails if it has those little sparkles in it.

Bob:

One common thing we hear too is, you know if they don’t do maintenance, can it get so bad that we cannot even repair it? The short answer to that is, yes, it can. Stone is a very strong, durable countertop material, but it does need to be maintained. The grouted repaired and sealed and also really needs to be cauked. So that over time you don’t have coffees and teas and Cokes spilling and sitting there and penetrating the surface because as Ryan said, there comes a point, especially on granites, which are such hard, hard stones where you can’t Polish away that top surface to get back down to a natural stone look.

There are some options that you have in terms of replacement. We can do some repair work. Like Ryan had said, you know, for minor chips and stuff like that. And some cracks and some cracking, we can you know, hide those or at least diminish the appearance of, but the best thing you can do for granite countertop cleaning is to get it done.
