Here’s a great insightful discussion between Bob and Ryan about Marble floor polishing Little Rock AR. Everything you need to know!
Bob:
Hey, good morning. It’s Bob and Ryan. And this morning, we’d like to talk about marble stone restoration specifically about marble floor polishing Little Rock AR and talk about what the difference is when we say a maintenance plan versus restoration, because there is a difference starting with the cost, but Ryan, when you look at a marble floor and you think about us having to a restoration, or can we do maintenance on it? What are the things that you’re looking for damage wise or just appearance-wise, that key you off to say this is going to require more than just our standard maintenance?
Ryan:
Well, first off, when I look at marble floors versus doing the marble floor polishing Little Rock AR or marble restoration, I look at the high traffic areas for the for scratching and wear for, you know, grind this beat into the stone itself. And if it’s, if it’s a low amount of scratches, if there’s any scratches at all, it can not be just polished. If there wasn’t scratch removal, any massive damage, minor damage, or big scratches and stuff like that. We have to do a total restoration. Okay.
Marble floor polishing Little Rock AR and Hazy Spots?
Bob:
Well, when you see like shadowing on the floor that is commonly referred to as etching what do we do with that? What, what can be done to fix that, will marble floor polishing Little Rock AR work? When you got hazy spots on a floor,
Ryan:
Two different reasons for that some of the hazing spots are from itch and some of them are from a previous inexperienced polisher that your tiles are not level and you come in, it’s called picture framing and it’s right around the grout edges. It’s usually two to three inches and it gets called. It was called a picture framing effect. And that brings in a whole nother part of restoration where we have to bring in a bigger piece of equipment and actually level the model.
Bob:
Okay. And when you talk about leveling, what are we actually doing in that?
Ryan:
Process or cutting off the stone and we’re making all the tiles perfectly level.
Bob:
Okay. So we’re even in a back off again. And what does that do for us as the end result? What is the difference between that? And like, say the stone Mason, doesn’t get all the tiles perfectly level, which they don’t cause that’s about impossible to do a, what is it Polish wise? Let’s say I want to have a, more of a gloss finish on my floor. What happens if I don’t do the leveling process?
Ryan:
We can’t give you a perfect Polish job because the machine and the pads and the diamonds, they can’t get level on the floor. So you got, you’ll have basically miss spots where the pads don’t.
Bob:
Much because our machines are so heavy and it’s just driven and it’s meant basically to go over a level floor for the marble floor polishing Little Rock AR. That’s correct. Yep. So when you don’t have a level of floor, that’s the kind of things that lead us to have to charge for a restoration in a restoration really, to us, the difference is we’re having to put generally our large machines on the floor, as opposed to coming in and just doing a really deep maintenance is really a deep cleaning and a good, I wouldn’t call it a seal. But really we’re coming off an air coming in and sealing off that top layer of the stone again, when we come in and do maintenance, whereas restoration is a whole different animal in terms of what we have to do for just regular maintenance. We usually come
Ryan:
In and it’s, it’s not a sealer on top. It’s an impregnating sealer. We’ll use the, we don’t use any diamonds during just the maintenance. We’ll do a, either a honing powder or a powder Polish, which actually both work as a cleaner for your marble floor polishing Little Rock AR. It works as if you will. And a terms like a soft scrub. It cleans the floor powder Polish gets it to a mere shine, or just keeps your mere shine there. And then a honing Polish just keeps it the natural flat finish.
Bob:
Okay. So a customer can pick either one of those finishes for their final product.
Ryan:
Correct. And we can take it from a honed finish to a polished and we can take it from him.
Your Options With Marble floor polishing Little Rock AR
Bob:
Polished to a hone. Okay. So we have a lot of options available. Nobody’s stuck with what they have on their floor, then they can talk to us. And I think that’s one important thing that everybody needs to think about is if we do free consultations, if you have a question on your floor and somewhere on our website, we also have a a study that shows how expensive natural stone flooring is to put in. So when you have natural stone form, we can’t emphasize how important it is to get a maintenance plan together, particularly on marble floor polishing Little Rock AR, which is one of the most popular floors that we see in the little rock area. If you do not maintain the marble correctly, Ryan, what happens to it over time?
Ryan:
And you’ll be, it’ll be either cost-effective to tear it out or to do a total restoration. And sometimes you can take it far enough where we can’t restore with the marble floor polishing Little Rock AR.
Bob:
Yep. And I don’t remember off the top of my head, but I want to say that marble flooring is somewhere installed and everything is in the neighborhood of $25 a square foot. The last,
Ryan:
Last house that I saw floor ruined in the home builder, hired somebody to come in and clean and seal a limestone floor. Just the cost of the stone itself. The builder told me is $45,000 and that was not stolen it.
Bob:
And our maintenance plans can run as cheap as what, a thousand to 2000. That’s correct. Yeah. So tremendous insurance to make sure that you protect that huge investment in your floor. Cause even if you have, let’s say a more cost-effective selection in marble stone or travertine or terrrazzo, whatever you have in your house, it is still very high end, expensive foreign, and it needs to be maintained. And then even businesses have that. So what, what are we seeing in businesses? Businesses is lot of a lot of times
Ryan:
Brazel and the problem is everybody thought Tereza was like concrete and he just, it was maintenance free. And that’s the furthest thing from the truth.
Bob:
Yeah. What was the solution we’ve seen time and time again that people put on there.
Ryan:
Yeah. And the wax is this wax is destroying it because of the chemicals. You have to strip the wax. She was very aggressive at scratches. The stone was in Toronto, his little marble chips. It’s usually their summit segmentations with marble chips instead of stone like like granite or limestone chunks, like concrete, it’s got true marble chunks in it of different colors or there’s an apostrophe based travertine, our travel. And you have to, you have to keep that maintenance and polished. If you wax it, the black brush, they use scratches, the stone really bad. And then the wax that they apply on top of it hides the scratches. But then they put a stripper on it to get the wax off and they destroy the stone even further where as we come in, we’ll run diamonds over it just like we would concrete or stone, we run diamonds over it. And it’s it’s different stages up to about 800 grit to 1500 grit. And then we powder Polish it and then seal it. And it just pops like a diamond. So we put a
Bob:
Clean, natural finish on there as opposed to, well, the guys that come in and do wax. So don’t think just clean that floor immaculate. They don’t just swell around all that oil and gunk and junk in the wax do that.
Ryan:
No, those guys don’t do anything. They are not 15 minutes. This is worse than Jiffy lube. Yeah, those guys, they they’re in there. They’ll just get the wax hot. And lot of times they’ll charge you for a strip and relax. They come in with a high speed buffer. It gets the wax hot. Again. They just move that old wax around. You got hair all the dirt. Oh yeah. You can go into the state Capitol and see multiple, multiple different people’s hair, all over trapped in the floor. It’s disgusting. I’ve even found a gun rapper, a gum wrapper in the wax. Right.
Bob:
And that’s the big difference that a natural stone restoration that we can offer versus that it is a real cleaning you’re down to your real stone and maintenance on that is so much easier because the surface is much, much harder than whack, which is what we call a sacrificial coating. Anyhow, waxes. That’s what wax is meant to do. It’s just meant to protect what’s ever underneath it and put a fake shine on top. And ours is not a fake shine. What is our difference
Ryan:
For us? Ours is a closed stone. It’s a, it’s a highly polished, like the best way. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s like a rock collector, polishes, the natural stone. That’s exactly what we do. And it’s, it’s a hard, very, very hard surface. And with the penetrating and pregnancy and penetrating sealers, we put on it. It’s not a sacrificial coding. It’s actually getting inside the stone is filling up all the small pores and actually sealing it off.
Bob:
So I get my marble floor polishing Little Rock AR completed. What, how often do I need to do maintenance to keep my floor looking good? What’s your recommendation on that? Let’s say in a residential setting,
Ryan:
In a residential setting for marble floor polishing Little Rock AR, if you don’t have a lot, a lot of company over stuff like that, you could push it out to every two years, but we always suggest once a year, just if you’ve got kids or family or a big family once a year, for sure. And maybe not the whole house every year, but maybe just the kitchen and the bathrooms. Yeah.
Bob:
Because we have a couple of big clients for us. I do a lot of entertaining, particularly around the holidays and they have us come in twice a year now. Right. Yep.
Ryan:
Right before the holidays and right after the holidays.
Bob:
And then they’re good for an entire year, an entire year of not having anyone come in and wax and buff and the floors still look good is the key difference between that waxing and buffing. And it’s the same for businesses? Businesses probably. What more like quarterly kind of service sometimes twice a year.
Ryan:
Yep. There’s several that we do three times a year. There’s several. We do, you know, two times a year, depending on the traffic and whatnot, the different hospitals with terrazzo in it, we do once a year, the there’s several investment buildings that have all marble in it. We do that marble floor polishing Little Rock AR twice a year, sometimes three times a year.
Bob:
And then one of the big differences again is we come in and we completely get down to that bare stone and we put a natural shine and marble floor polishing Little Rock AR on it. It is not a sacrificial coating. And we can do that just once or twice a year instead of places that actually have people come in multiple times per week to try to keep their floor looking good.
Ryan:
The state Capitol, there’s somebody there every night that waxes that floor.
Bob:
Hopefully not for long though, because we are talking to them about that as well.
Ryan:
You have to, the best thing you can do is have a natural marble floor polishing Little Rock AR on your floor. Awesome. Good deal.
